I've finally got around to implementing 404 redirects on my own website. Lakeland.edu has had some really slick code on it for awhile now that allows us to create virtual folders that don't really exist and then redirect users to lower level landing page folders.
I was curious if anybody else had done this so I did a search and found this article on it. I must admit that we though up the 404 redirect on our own without consulting other sites. A great achievement on our part I must say. ....View Comments (0)

Yahoo has recently changed their search feature on their home page and search page. While Google already has this in its "labs" they do not have this implemented on their home page.
Basically what the feature does is auto completes what you type in and also gives you related searches.
Google and Yahoo for the most part offer the same products and features but the main difference is Yahoo's products look and act good while Google's look like it was created by blind people.

An interesting website I ran across. It uses an open source mapping api/server/program and incorporates extra data into it such as crime, news, reviews etc. What is most impressive about it is most of it is built from the ground up, unlike Google Map mashups that simply just use Google's api with layers. I was a bit concerned about this at first because I don't want Google posting on all my forms with useless spammer like posts. Apparently they are only crawling GET methods and not POST. Something that's always confused me is the differences when opening recordsets with ASP. After doing some searching tonight I found this simple answer in this forum. Essentially when using Set rs = cn.Execute(sql) it opens a read only record set while when using rs.open(sql) it opens a recordset which could be read-only, write, etc. Supposedly the first version is more efficient if you're only reading through a table. ....View Comments (4)

Apparently there are several websites now days with easter eggs 'aka hidden things, because programmers were bored'. Online tool for uppercasing or lowercasing all inputted text. I had a 1000 row Excel file that I was going to read rows from for an email campaign. Unfortunately the user's first and last names were all uppercase.
